Twitter CEO Evan Williams Speaks At Tokyo Tweetup 2010

Over the weekend Twitter CEO Evan Williams attended the Japan Tweetup 2010 and revealed some World Cup stats showing that Japan soccer fans pushed the site to its limits. During the Japan vs. Denmark match 3283 TPS (tweets per second) were hitting the network setting a new all time record for Twitter updates. No wonder Twitter has been under such a strain, when a tech centric nation like Japan wholeheartedly accepts the platform, the result is a deluge of server crushing tweets.
